Moxie Pond Trailhead/Trestle Road

At about 11:37 a.m. we headed back down the Trail and crossed Moxie Bald Lean-to. The Trail then took a fairly steep climb up Moxie Bald Mountain. From there we went down into the valley between the Moxie Bald and Pleasant Pond Mountains and passed the Bald Mountain Brook Lean-to. Next, we crossed Baker Brook—which flows into Joe's Hole, which in turn flows into Moxie Pond—and the Moxie Pond Trailhead. I had collected water at Baker Brook, so we traveled just a bit up Trestle Road, eventually hiking back into the woods where I decided to stop for the night at about 6:45 p.m. We were pretty tired after navigating the rocks in the water at the brook crossing, and I wanted to give Forest a chance to dry off before climbing into his hammock for the night. We still have 10 miles to go to our next resupply tomorrow night and I was on the last of Forest's food, so I split his dinner so I could feed him some tonight and the rest in the morning to keep his energy up.
