Eager to Get Back on the Trail

Tonight I'm focused on planning the next stretch of trail, which will be 56.6 miles. My goal is to hike 10 miles per day on this portion. The part that I really hate is reloading my pack; it's like tackling an ever-changing puzzle every day. By the time I'm done, I feel like I look like a walking yard sale. 😆

I try to keep Forest's pack to a maximum of 5 to 6 pounds--sometimes it looks like more because the lightweight materials (e.g., tent, quilt) take up more volume. We will both be glad to get back at it tomorrow!
